Insightful Living Psychology

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, leaving you emotionally drained, disconnected from yourself, or unsure of what comes next. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, grief, a major life transition, or the effects of painful experiences, it's easy to feel stuck or lose sight of hope. You may also find yourself searching for meaning, purpose, or answers to questions about your faith or the direction of your life.

Whatever you're going through, you don't have to face it alone. Healing, growth, and hope are possible, and I'm here to walk alongside you as you move toward them.

Maritza Rivera, PhD.

I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) licensed psychologist in Texas and Puerto Rico with 17 years of clinical experience. My background includes community mental health, psychological evaluation, ADHD and Autism assessments, and working with older adults and their families. While my current practice focuses on individual therapy for adults, my experience allows me to bring a broad perspective to understanding each client’s unique experiences, strengths, and needs. When appropriate, I can also help you better understand previous psychological or psychiatric diagnoses and how they may relate to your current concerns.

For seven years, I supported older adults in nursing home settings, including individuals living with mild to moderate dementia and other neurocognitive disorders, while also encountering families navigating grief, chronic illness, caregiving, and life transitions. These experiences deepened my appreciation for the resilience of individuals and families throughout life’s challenges.

I am especially passionate about supporting Christian ministers and pastors’ wives. Through my years of serving in ministry, I understand the unique pressures of balancing personal, family, and ministry responsibilities. My goal is to provide a welcoming and confidential space where you can gain perspective, explore new ways of coping, and rediscover your strengths while navigating life and ministry.
